Results explained

This is ordinary-annuity arithmetic with monthly compounding: payment PMT = PV × r / (1 − (1+r)^(−n)), and future value FV = PMT × ((1+r)^n − 1) / r, where r is the monthly rate and n is months. It ignores fees, taxes, inflation, and insurance product riders. For retirement income products, read the contract — “annuity” in marketing is broader than this worksheet.

FAQ

Is this a fixed indexed annuity quote?

No. Those products layer caps, participation rates, and fees. This is plain time-value math.

Beginning vs end of period?

This page uses ordinary annuity (end of period) payments — the common loan/savings textbook default.

What about inflation?

Not modeled. A constant payment loses purchasing power unless you escalate deposits or withdrawals.

Can I add a balloon or residual value?

Not on this page. Use a more detailed amortization tool for residual/balloon structures.
