Results explained

If work so far is worth W% at grade C, and the final is worth (100−W)%, then target T requires final score F where T = (C·W + F·(100−W)) / 100. Solving for F can produce numbers over 100 (need extra credit or a curve) or under 0 (you already cleared the target).

What if my syllabus lists letter grades only?

Convert your current average to a percent first, or ask your instructor for the numeric cutoffs they use.

Does dropping the lowest quiz change this?

Yes — recompute your current percent after drops, then rerun. This page assumes the current grade you enter is final for the “so far” weight.

Can I model multiple remaining exams?

Not directly. Collapse remaining work into one weighted bucket, or run scenarios one exam at a time.

Why is the needed score over 100?

The target is out of reach with the remaining weight alone. Ask about extra credit, curves, or revise the target.
