Counter area (sq ft)

Counter area

Sum length × depth of each run (often 25.5 in deep). Include islands. Templating will refine this number.

Quartz grade
i
Quartz grade

Standard colors are widely stocked. Mid-grade adds popular patterns. Premium/exotic slabs carry higher material cost.

Edge profile

Edge profile

Eased edges are usually included in the base rate. Bevels and ogee profiles add fabrication time per linear foot.

Sink cutouts
i
Sink cutouts

Each undermount or drop-in cutout needs fabrication and polishing time.

Your state

Your state

Scales midpoints for typical state-level labor and material costs versus the U.S. average — not an on-site bid.

Options

How to use this calculator

  1. Enter approximate counter square footage.
  2. Choose slab grade and edge profile.
  3. Add sink (and optional cooktop) cutouts.
  4. Toggle old-counter removal and select your state.

Results explained

Installed $/sq ft is split into slab materials (~62%) and fabrication/install (~38%). Edges, cutouts, and removal are separate lines.

Quick reference: quartz countertops

U.S.-average installed midpoints before state scaling.

Grade Installed $/sf Edge adder Notes
Standard $55 Eased included Popular stock colors
Mid-grade $75 +$12/lf bevel Common upgrade tier
Premium $105 +$28/lf complex Limited patterns
Sink cutout $175 each Undermount polish time

Old counter removal ≈ $8/sq ft. Backsplash slabs and plumbing reconnect are extras.

How the estimate is built

Total ≈ sf × grade $/sf (split materials/labor) + edge lf × profile rate + cutouts + removal, × state. Band ≈ 85%–125%.

Example scenario

Forty-five sq ft of mid-grade quartz with one sink cutout and removal at U.S. average is about $75 × 45 = $3,375 + $175 cutout + $360 removal ≈ $3,910.

FAQ

Is templating included?

Field measure/template is usually inside the install midpoint; rush re-templates after cabinet changes can add fees.

Quartz vs granite?

This page is quartz-only. Granite pricing and sealing needs differ.

Can seams be invisible?

Seams are normal on long runs; color match varies by pattern — ask to see a seam sample.
