How the estimate is built

Area = L × W × rooms. With waste = area × (1 + waste%).

Example scenario

A 12×10 ft room with 10% waste is 120 sq ft net and 132 sq ft to order.

FAQ

Can I mix feet and inches?

Convert inches to feet first (3 in = 0.25 ft), or use decimal feet.

What about L-shaped rooms?

Split into two rectangles and run the calculator twice, then add.

Is this the same as cubic feet?

No. Square footage is area (2D). Cubic feet is volume (3D).
