How the estimate is built
Felling midpoint ≈ height base × access multiplier × tree count. Labor is modeled as ~55% of that line and equipment ~45%. Stump grinding adds about $220–$450 per stump (scaled by height/access). Haul-away adds a small flat plus per-tree disposal. Your state multiplies the U.S.-average midpoints. The band is roughly 78%–135% of the midpoint.

Are permits included?
No. Some cities require permits or arborist letters for protected species or right-of-way trees — budget those separately.
What about storm or leaning hazard trees?
Emergency and hazard rates run higher than these planned midpoints. Use a higher-cost state as a stress test, then get an on-site bid.
Does stump grinding remove the root ball?
Grinding typically chips the stump below grade; full root excavation is a different (and pricier) scope.
